An eyewitness account has captured in still photographs an unnamed fuel station on fire at the UNIZIK junction in Awka, the Anambra state capital on Thursday, 23 December 2021.
The picture of the fuel station sent to Prime Business Africa showed the moment that a ball of dark flames were in the air.
There was no indication of fire fighters coming to stave the fire from razing other buildings in the neighborhood.
In recent days, there have been not-too pleasant news about the UNIZIK junction with gunmen killing three innocent persons and abducting a trycicle chief at the junction last week.
A popular pedestrian bridge at the junction used by commuters is now home to beggars and some street urchins.
