Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has formally distanced himself from the controversial motion expelling top figures of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, and former National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
In a statement issued through his Director of Press and Media Affairs, Gyang Bere, Governor Mutfwang made it clear that the expulsion move did not emanate from the PDP Governors’ Forum, nor was it discussed at the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting before being presented at the ongoing national convention in Ibadan.

Governor Mutfwang emphasised that the party should prioritise unity, dialogue, and collective problem-solving, rather than actions that could escalate tensions or alienate key stakeholders.
He reiterated his commitment to supporting genuine efforts aimed at rebuilding and repositioning the party ahead of future political contests.
The governor’s disavowal adds a new layer of complexity to the unfolding crisis, as the PDP convention continues in Ibadan despite a Federal High Court order suspending the event.
