Generation Google EMEA Scholarships Now Open For Women In Computer Science, Gaming

The 2024/2025 Generation Google EMEA Scholarships is now accepting applications from all aspiring female leaders in technology. The 7,000 Euro prize is intended to assist women pursuing degrees in computer science and gaming.

Eligibility:

  • Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited university or college for the 2023-2024 academic year.
  • Intend to be enrolled or accepted full-time in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited university in Europe, Middle East, or Africa for the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Demonstrating a strong academic record and leadership qualities.
  • Commitment to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in technology.

Application Process:

  • Complete an online application.
  • Provide general background information.
  • Upload a resume/CV.
  • Submit academic transcripts.
  • Respond to two short answer essay questions (each answer should be 500 words or less).

 

Essay Questions:

Describe a time when you faced a complex problem without a clear solution path. Explain the steps you took to solve it, including resources considered and lessons learned.

From personal experience, discuss a barrier preventing equitable access to technology. Identify the root cause and actions you’ve taken or plan to take to address it, focusing on your contributions to solving the issue.

Required Documents:

PDF copy of resume (including leadership positions, extracurricular activities, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts).

PDF copy of current or most recent transcript (unofficial is acceptable).
