Former NIMASA DG, Ferdinand Agu, Dies

A former Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Ferdinand Agu, has passed on.

According to a report by The Niche, Agu, who attended a traditional wedding in Abuja on Thursday, died Friday morning, after suffering a heart attack.

Until his death, Agu was the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Benue State. He served as DG of NIMASA between 2000 and 2005, when it was the National Maritime Authority (NMA).

He also served as  Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan between 2011 and 2015.
Agu obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus in 1983.
