Five Kidnapped By Pirates In Rivers State

SEA  travelers have abducted five boat travelers on the Onne-Bonny waterways in Rivers state.

Chairman, Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Rivers State Chapter, Henry Jumbo stated this in Port Hacourt.

According to him, a total of 18 passengers were on the boat when the pirates abducted five them to an unknown hideout.

The chairman said the kidnappers were yet to make any contact, but a search team has been put in place to rescue the missing passengers.

He appealed to the marine police and other security agencies, to deploy operatives along the Bonny-Onne sea route  and other surrounding waterways, to combat the attacks and kidnaps experienced by citizens.
