FIFA Club World Cup: Juventus Outclass Wydad FC

Serie A giants Juventus on Sunday evening thrashed one of Africa’s three representatives at the 2025 FIFA World Cup, Wydad FC 4-1 to qualify for the round of 16 of the competition.

Kenan Yildiz was the star of the show as he helped himself and the Old Lady to a brace.

The win in Philadelphia sees Juve top Group G and it was a rather bright start for head coach Igor Tudor’s team.

The Italians went ahead in the sixth minute through an own goal by Abdelmouaim Boutouil before Yildiz scored in the 16th and 69th minutes.

South African midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch reduced the arreas for Wydad FC in the 25th minute.

Wydad were back in the game after Nordin Amrabat saw his through ball locate Lorch who dinked the ball past the Juve goalkeeper.

Wydad conceded a penalty kick despite an initial foul on Guilherme Ferreira.

Dusan Vlahovic stepped up to convert from 12 yards to make the score more comfortable for Juventus.
