THE proposed 2021 Digital Nigeria Conference, Exhibition and Awards earlier scheduled to hold from Oct. 25 to Oct. 27 has been postponed to an indefinite date.

This was announced through a statement signed by the Head of Corporate Affairs and External Relations, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mrs Hadiza Umar, which was released on Friday in Abuja.

Umar who said that a new date for the event would be communicated in no distant future did not give a reason for the postponement.

She said, “The event, formerly known as e-Nigeria International Conference and Exhibition is the flagship tech event in the Nigerian digital economy sector.

“The conference themed “Digital Transformation: A Pathway to Sustainable Digital Economy” is aimed at addressing Nigeria’s technological challenges in achieving sustainable socio-economic development.

She, however, disclosed that the “Digital Nigeria Day” event scheduled to hold on Sunday, October 24, will still be celebrated.

You may recall that the Nigerian government last year declared October 24 as Digital Nigeria Day. The event is set aside for creating awareness about the need for development of the country’s Digital Economy.

Umar said the agency regrets the inconvenience caused by the postponement.
