Frank Lampard has been sacked as manager of Everton following a run of poor results.

The Toffees slipped to 19th position in the English Premier League table after failing to win their last 10 games in all competitions.

They have been eliminated from the FA Cup and Carabao Cup competitions.

The Liverpool-based side were beaten 2-0 by relegation rivals, West Ham United which leaves the team off the foot of the table by virtue of goal difference.

Lampard spent just shy of one year as the Toffees manager and could only muster a win percentage of 27.3% in that time.

Everton have yet to release an official statement but 90min understands they have informed Lampard of their decision.

The decision by the Everton hierarchy was not a shock to supporters of the club and the media as fans, in their numbers, protested at the club’s recent games.

There has been reports emerging that the former Derby County and Chelsea manager and some of the first team players had a bust-up among them being Senegal international, Abdoulaye Doucoure who was subsequently banished from the first team squad and has been forced to train alone.

The incident was said to have happened after their January 14 defeat to Southampton.

The Everton owners collectively admitted after Saturday’s defeat to West Ham that results needed to change.

Names of possible replacements are now being thrown up by the media in the UK.

Meanwhile Chelsea are reportedly considering seizing on Everton’s current crisis with a double swoop for Amadou Onana and Anthony Gordon before the January transfer window closes.

The Blues are weighing up whether to capitalise on the uncertainty at Goodison Park by moving for two of their most valuable stars just hours after Lampard was sacked as Toffees boss on Monday.
