Manchester United manager Eric ten Hag on Saturday evening rued the insipid performance of his team in a 4-0 rout against Brentford at the Gtech Communications Stadium.

Hag puts the blames firmly on the players and insists that the players would always need to have self belief if they must start producing the results.

The defeat means that United are currently placed at the basement of the league table.

The former Ajax head coach was addressing the media in the post match press conference where he was asked questions about improving the quality of the players in his team.

“The team has to take the responsibility. I feel sorry for the fans.

“I asked them to play with belief and responsibility. That is what they didn’t do,” Sky Sports quoted the coach.

Speaking about possible incomes in the transfer window, ten Hag have this to say:

“New signings? Yes. We need new players and quality players. We will try and convince them to join. Only whwn we stick together we will overcome it. The manager is the main responsibility and I take that,” the tactician stated.
