Rasmus Hojlund netted a late winner to get his debut goal in the Premier League as Manchester United came from behind to defeat Aston Villa 3-2 in a dramatic clash at the Old Trafford on Boxing Day, reports Prime Business Africa.

The win snaps a four-game losing streak by the Red Devils in all competitions and gives manager Eric Ten Hag some breathing space as numerous reports and opinion polls focus on whether he can continue to be at the helm with the 25% acquisition of the club by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Ahead of the game, in-form Aston Villa had picked 11 points in the Premier League out of a possible 15 and firmly in the top four positions.

John McGinn put the Villians ahead midway onto the game when his innocuous free-kick flew past a sea of bodies in the penalty area to find its way to the bottom right corner.

That goal was after he had missed a great chance to be on the scoresheet as early as the fourth minute.

Leandro Deonducker soon afterwards headed in Villa’s second goal and it seemed United will lose a Boxing day fixture for the first time in the Premier League.

However the second half was a different ball game as Alejandro Garnacho picked up the guantlet and scored two fantastic goals after his goal early in the second half was ruled out by the VAR.

Hojlund pounced on a loose ball in the final quarter of the game tk score his først goal in the top division since his summer arrival fe Italian Serie A club, Atalanta.
