Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, indicating that about eight domestic workers of the singer have been arrested for interrogation over the unfortunate incident.
The popular singer’s son who is three years old reportedly died on Monday. He was said to have drowned in a swimming pool in Davido’s house.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the death on Tuesday morning, said all the workers in Davido’s house will be questioned in relation to the incident.
Hundeyin said anyone found to be guiltless in the death of Davido’s son will be released immediately, adding that those found to have been negligent would be held back to help in further investigation.
News of the sad incident as reported by Prime Business Africa had gone viral between Monday night and Tuesday morning, as the popular singer’s fans wished it was not true. Many described the news as ‘false’.

Davido’s son, a little boy who was born in 2019, celebrated his birthday last week.
The couple, Davido and Chioma are yet to release an official statement on the incident. However, some celebrities have taken to their social media handles to express their sorrow over the incident, wishing Davido and his partner the grace to bear the loss.
A reality TV star and actress, Rosemary Afuwape said on her Instagram page “My heart can’t take this. This is so painfully unbearable. Chioma and Davido please accept my condolences. No amount of words can comfort your hearts. I am truly sorry for your loss.
Also, Comedian, Ayo Makun, posted early hours of Tuesday on Instagram saying that the death of Davido’s son is painful, “unnatural and tragic. This hits me so bad.”
