Billboard has revealed that the Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Davido, is gearing up for his inaugural performance at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City on April 17, 2024.

The Timeless Tour is set to kick off with a show at Madison Square Garden, followed by a performance at Montreal’s Place Bell on April 19. The tour will reach its end with an unforgettable finale at Orlando’s Additional Financial Arena on April 24.

Davido shared his excitement, stating, “Seven years ago, I walked past Madison Square Garden and looked at it and said, ‘We gonna come back and shut this down.’

So to be here now, able to play Madison Square Garden in New York, one of the first cities and fans to embrace my music, at this iconic venue … it’s a dream come true.”

Davido’s Madison Square Garden performance follows in the footsteps of his compatriots Burna Boy and Wizkid, who both made history with their own monumental shows at MSG in April 2022 and November 2022, respectively.

This milestone for Davido comes in the wake of a remarkable year, with nominations in two prestigious categories at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

His summer smash hit “Unavailable” with Musa Keys earned him a nod for Best African Music Performance, while his critically acclaimed fourth studio album, “Timeless,” is in the running for Best Global Music Album.

Released in March 2023 under Davido Music Worldwide, “Timeless” made an impressive impact on the charts, soaring to No. 37 on the Billboard 200 and claiming the No. 2 spot on the World Albums chart.

The album’s title track, “Timeless,” further solidified its success by securing the No. 3 position on both the U.S. Afrobeats Songs and World Digital Song Sales charts.
