Variety they say is the spice of life, perhaps, that explains why Afro beat super star, David Adedeji Adeleke, better known as Davido, has ventured into sports business by launching a Football Club in Lagos.

The award winning artist’s soccer outfit known as 30BG Sports Club is expected to compete in the Lagos Liga, a Nigerian Private Premier league billed to kick off in December at the Centre of Excellence.

The move by the  ema dami duro exponent makes him the latest celebrity to key into the Lagos Liga 2024 as other celebrities like Don Jazzy’s Supremos FC, Tacha’s Titans FC, D’Banj’s Koko FC and others.The announcement was made via the Lagos Liga X handle on Wednesday

The post read: “THE WAIT IS OVER! Introducing 30BG Sports Club to Lagos Liga 2024. The 001 has landed. Davido, a globally acclaimed singer, transcends music and entertainment, impacting culture, politics, and more. Opponents, beware! Davido’s arrival makes the competition riskier. But will 30BG FC emerge victorious?”

This move comes just two weeks after Big Brother Naija reality star Tacha also stepped out to acquire her own football club.

Davido is not one to shy away from investments as he practically has a finger in every pie.  Some other areas he is known to have invested in include real estate, hospitality industry and stocks with endorsement deals also serving as other sources of income for the 31 year old who is a proud recipient of National award of Officer Order of the Niger (OON).

Known for his intense love for cars, Davido recently revealed the latest addition to his garage. A video recently shared on the Afrobeats star’s Instagram revealed that he splurged millions of naira to buy himself a Tesla cybertruck
