Dangote Sugar, Okomu Oil, Other Gainers Add N764bn To Stock Market Cap

Dangote Sugar and Okomu Oil led the stock market gainers’ list on Tuesday, June 24, with NPF Microfinance Bank and Aradel making the losers’ table.

The gains recorded by Dangote Sugar, Okomu Oil, and other companies added N764.12 billion to the bourse’s capitalisation, which rose to N75.57 trillion, from N74.81 trillion reached on Monday, June 23.

This followed the 1,211.17 basis points gained by the all-share index, which expanded from 118,579.65 ASI to 119,790.82 ASI.

After trading hours, stock traders exchanged 868,67 million shares in 22,207 deals, valued at N23.70 billion, exceeding the N653.65 million shares, worth N21.32 billion, traded in 22,206 deals the day before.

Top five gainers

  • Dangote Sugar’s share price increased by N4, to rise from N40 to N44 per share.
  • Okomu Oil’s share value grew by N68, from N680 to N748 per share.
  • UPDC ended trading at N3.30 kobo per share, from N3 per share – indicating an increase of N0.30 kobo.
  • Beta Glass gained N30.35 kobo to end trading at N333.95 kobo, having opened with N303.60 kobo.
  • Champion Breweries’ share value was up by N0.90 kobo, after closing at N9.92 kobo from N9.02 per share.

Top five losers

  • DAAR Communications’ share price depreciated by 7.81 percent, dwindling from N0.64 kobo to N0.59 kobo per share.
  • Prestige recorded a 5.56 percent decline in its share price to end trading at N1.02 after opening with N1.08 per share.
  • IMG lost N1.50 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N33.40 kobo from N34.90 kobo per share.
  • NPF Microfinance Bank reported a decline of 4.25 percent from the previous day’s share price of N2.12 kobo to end trading at N2.03 per share.
  • Aradel recorded a N21.80 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N515 after opening with N536.80 kobo per share.

  • LivingTrust reported that 112.26 million shares valued at N415.67 million were traded on its floor.
  • Royal Exchange recorded 103.58 million shares valued at N113.79 million.
  • Fidelity Bank saw investors trade 83.92 million of its shares valued at N1.63 billion.
  • Access Holdings recorded 55.60 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N1.26 billion.
  • Zenith Bank reported 34.21 million shares valued at N1.76 billion exchanged in investors’ hands.
