With the production cost rising by just 2.57 percent, the company saw a 24.24 percent year-on-year increase in its gross profit, which grew from N507.59 billion to N630.64 billion.

However, administrative expenses gulped N72.43 billion of Dangote Cement’s earnings in Q2 2025, compared to the N53.22 billion spent during the corresponding period last year, indicating an increase of 36.10 percent.

Also, selling and distribution expenses gulped N167.75 billion during the period under review, compared to the N159.20 billion reported in the second quarter of 2024, representing an increase of 5.36 percent.

After the company factored in other income, impairment of financial assets and the deduction of the administrative, selling and distribution expenses, Dangote Cement was left with N413.55 billion operating profit in Q2 2025, up by 39.57 percent year-on-year, from N296.30 billion.

Dangote Cement’s bottom line was supported by a 626.53 percent increase in finance income, which grew to N97.37 billion in the second quarter of this year, from the N13.40 billion posted in Q2 2024.

A 50.18 percent decrease in the company’s finance costs contributed, as it increased to N104.25 billion during the period under review, compared to the N209.29 billion reported in Q2 last year.

This led to the cement manufacturer recording an increase of 230.34 percent in its profit before tax (PBT), which reached N418.06 billion in the second quarter of 2025, exceeding the N126.55 billion posted in the same period the year before.

Furthermore, Dangote Cement filed an income tax of N106,85 billion in Q2 2025, compared to the N49,32 billion filed in Q2 2024, representing an increase of 116.63 percent.

Additionally, Dangote Cement reported profit after tax (PAT) of N311.21 billion during the review period, up by 302.96 percent from the N77.23 billion posted in the second quarter of last year.
