Dangote Cement, Oando, Other Equity Investors Pocket N250 billion

Investors went home with N250 billion gain on Wednesday, as the market capitalisation appreciated from N28.95 trillion to N29.20 trillion.

Similarly, the All-Share Index recovered after gaining 479.17 basis points. It rose from 53,124.63 ASI to 53,603.8 ASI.

Over 236.06 million shares were traded on Wednesday in 3,906 deals valued at N3.25 billion.

This is against the 202.85 million shares traded in 3,071 deals, worth N2.05 billion, on Tuesday.

Top five gainers

  • Oando share appreciated by N1 to rise from N4.47kobo to N4.91kobo per share
  • Caverton grew by 8.08 per cent, up from N0.99kobo to N1.07 per share
  • Ikeja Hotel ended trading with N1.11kobo from N1.03 per share, rising by 7.77 per cent.
  • Transcorp gained N0.10kobo to end trading at N1.50kobo, having opened with N1.40kobo per share.
  • Dangote Cement’s stock was up by N14, closing at N290 from N276 per share

Top five losers

  • May and Baker depreciated by N0.40kobo, dwindling from N4.60kobo to N4.20kobo per share.
  • Consolidated Hallmark Insurance also fell by 8.06 per cent to end trading at N0.57kobo, after opening with N0.62kobo per share.
  • RT Briscoe followed the same path losing 7.69 per cent after trading hours, to sell at N0.24kobo from N0.26kobo per share.
  • FTN Cocoa reported a decline of 7.14 per cent from the previous day’s share price of N0.28kobo to end trading at N0.26kobo per share.
  • CAP’s share depreciated to N17.90kobo from N19, after losing N1.10kobo during trading hours.

  • Transcorp reported 91.39 million shares valued at N134.23 million were traded on its floor
  • Zenith Bank recorded 27.08 million shares valued at N696.20 million
  • GTCO saw investors trade 22.07 million of its shares valued at N551.45 million
  • UBA recorded 16.57 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N132.75 million
  • Sterling Bank reported 11.97 million shares, valued at N19.10 million, exchanged investors’ hands
