Transparency Advocacy for Development Initiative (TADI), a Civil Society Organisation, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for his choice of Dr. Bala Bello as part of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s new leadership but has also hailed it as a strategic and welcome development for the apex bank.

President Bola Tinubu on Friday approved the nomination of Dr. Olayemi Cardoso as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and four others as Deputy Governors which include Dr. Bala Bello..

The appointment, subject to confirmation by the Senate, marks a significant development in Nigeria’s economic landscape.

Announcing the nomination, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, cited the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, which empowers the President to appoint the Governor and Deputy Governors of the apex Bank, subject to Senate confirmation.

He went on to express complete confidence in Dr. Bala Bello’s capability to excel in his new role, stating, “We, in the civil society, have no doubt about Bello’s capacity to serve and deliver on all tasks assigned to him at the apex bank.”

This unconventional show of support from a civil society organization signifies their belief in President Tinubu’s vision for the nation. Mr. David emphasized the importance of this appointment, asserting, “Your determination to reposition Nigeria to its place of pride among the committee of nations is very commendable.”

The TADI Executive Director closed his statement with a call to action, urging all Nigerians to unite and support President Tinubu’s administration in its mission to deliver renewed hope to the nation, transcending tribal and religious boundaries.
