Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk Killed In Utah Shooting: Key Facts About His Life, Career

Charlie Kirk, 31, activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed on Wednesday during an event at Utah Valley University.

Kirk, a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, gained national attention after founding Turning Point USA in 2012 at just 18. Known for mobilizing young voters and championing populist conservatism, he played a key role in the Republican Party’s outreach efforts on college campuses and churches ahead of the 2024 elections.

The shooting occurred during the first stop of Kirk’s 14-city “American Comeback Tour.” Witnesses reported hearing a single gunshot while Kirk was answering a question on stage.

Married to Erika Frantzve since 2021, Kirk leaves behind two young children. Tributes have poured in from political allies, including Trump, as well as opponents offering condolences.
