The defeat marked Falconets 6th consecutive loss to Germany in the history of their clashes.

The team will now be hoping to earn maximum points against Venezuela in the last group match at the Estadio Olympico Pascual Guerrero in Cali on Saturday.

Ruthless Germany have scored eight goals in two matches, five against Venezuela and three against Nigeria to top D with six points.
Nigeria is in the second place with three points and stands a good chance of advancing with anticipated victory against Venezuela.
Hosts Colombia are comfortably leading group A with six points after beating Australia and Cameroon respectively.
Cameroon boasts of a point in two matches and will face Australia Friday September 6.
They will need to record victory with a good goal margin to stand a chance of progressing, especially with Mexico already having four points ahead of the last group match, against Colombia, on Friday.
Falconets who have appeared in all editions of the championship since the maiden edition in 2002, (11 appearances) have been runners up twice in 2010 and 2014 in Germany and Canada. Quarterfinalists five times, and finishing in the fourth place once.
The team has however crashed out in the group stages at the maiden edition in 2002 and the 2016 edition in Papua New Guinea.
