Bulls Charge Ahead As NGX Shatters Records As Market Cap Surpasses N50trn

Nigerian bourse’s valuation appreciated by 0.51 per cent on Tuesday, as the stock market capitalisation closed at N36.39 trillion.

The market capitalisation rose from N36.20 trillion reported on Monday, indicating a gain of N185.51 billion during trading today.

Similarly, the All-Share Index inched higher to 66,490.34 ASI, rising by 338.96 basis points from 66,151.38 ASI.

Investors exchanged 356.01 million shares in 7,932 deals, worth N7.01 billion on Tuesday, compared to the N3.91 billion traded for 311.11 million shares in 7,193 deals on Monday.

Top five gainers 

  • Champion Brew share appreciated by N0.29 kobo to rise from N2.90 kobo to N3.19 kobo per share.  
  • Flour Mills grew by N3, up from N30 to N33 kobo per share.      
  • Nascon ended trading with N54.10 kobo from N49.20 kobo per share, rising by N4.90 kobo      
  • Dangote Sugar gained N5.20 kobo to end trading at N57.45 kobo, having opened with N52.25 kobo per share.       
  • NAHCO’s share was up by N2, closing at N22.10 kobo from N20.10 kobo per share.  

Top five losers 

  • Linkage Assurance depreciated by N0.10 kobo, dwindling from N1 to N0.90 kobo per share.        
  • CWG declined by N0.45 kobo to end trading at N4.05, after opening at N4.50 kobo per share.        
  • Chellaram followed the same path, losing N0.39 kobo after trading hours, to sell at N3.57 kobo from N3.96 kobo per share.        
  • Prestige reported a decline of 9.80 per cent from the previous day’s share price of N0.51 kobo to end trading at N0.46 kobo per share.        
  • UPL’s share depreciated to N2.15 kobo from N2.38 kobo, after losing N0.23 kobo during trading hours.  

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange 

  • FBN Holdings reported 55.14 million shares, valued at N911.20 million, were traded on its floor.        
  • Japaul Gold recorded 33.11 million shares valued at N29.92 million.      
  • UBA saw investors trade 30.17 million shares valued at N412.17 million.      
  • Access Corporation recorded 25.35 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N414.37 million.      
  • Transcorp reported 18.21 million shares, valued at N127.71 million, exchanged investors’ hands.
