Bulls, Bears In Deadlock As Honeywell Leads Losers List

Honeywell Flour led the losers’ chart on Thursday when  trading ended in a deadlock between the bears and bulls as the total share price was down by -0.007 per cent. Market capitalisation also settled at N25.957 trillion, from N25.959 trillion it was the previous day.

The All-Share Index slightly dropped to 47,656.64 ASI from 47,660.04 ASI, losing 3.4 basis points.

Investors raised investment level on the exchange floor to N2.84 billion, trading 172.89 million shares in 3,073 deals.

Trading on Thursday surpassed the 107.01 million shares traded in 3,227 deals on Wednesday, worth N1.31 billion

Top five gainers

UPDC REIT share appreciated by N0.25kobo to rise from N2.75kobo to N3 per share. 

MCNichols grew by 8.93 per cent, up from N0.56kobo to N0.61kobo per share. 

Japaul Gold ended trading with N0.27kobo from N0.27kobo per share, rising by 7.41 per cent. 

Nigerian Breweries gained N3 to end trading at N45, having opened with N42. 

Royal Express stock was up by 4.76 per cent closing with N0.66kobo from N0.63kobo per share. 

Top five losers

Honeywell Flour depreciated by N0.18kobo, dwindling from N2.28kobo to N2.10kobo per share.   

RT Briscoe also fell by 7.41 per cent to end trading at N0.27kobo, after opening with N0.25kobo per share.   

Wema Bank followed the same path, losing N0.18kobo after trading hours, to sell at N3.12kobo from N3.30kobo per share. 

FCMB reported a decline of N0.14kobo from previous day’s share price of N3.35kobo to end trading at N3.21kobo per share.

Cutix share depreciated to N2.05 from N2.11kobo, after losing 2.84 per cent during trading hours. 

Top five trading equities in stock exchange

FCMB reported 49.80 million shares valued at N172.78 million were traded on its floor. 

Courtville recorded 16.86 million shares valued at N8.43 million. 

Access Corp saw investors trade 11.96 million of its shares valued at N102.99 million. 

UBA recorded 10.76 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N79.37 million. 

Zenith Bank reported 9.78 million shares valued at N221.41 million exchanged investors’ hands.
