Buhari’s Sunday Meeting With APC Governors On Party Convention Affirms Prime Business Africa’s Two-month Exclusive Reports

Prime Business Africa can authoritatively report today that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will go ahead with its planned national convention scheduled to hold on 5 February 2022, as official ratification to that effect is expected on Sunday when President Muhammadu Buhari meets with state governors of the party in Abuja.

Prime Business Africa exclusively reported two months ago that the party leadership had zoned the presidential candidacy in the 2023 general elections to Southern Nigeria and subsequently settled for a northern Chairmanship candidate.

With the intervention of the President, the Caretaker committee of the party are hopeful of organising the Convention as their original file stipulated when they were constituted and consequently the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will be notified to meet the 21-day requirements as exclusively reported by Prime Business Africa.

Sunday’s crucial meeting will help resolve the issue of Chairman and Secretary positions and then thereafter a national caucus of the party will be constituted.

Prime Business Africa had informed that a national caucus of the All Progressives Congress would meet in January to notify INEC of the Convention date within the statutory 21-day window.
