Buhari Arrives Maiduguri Under Tight Security

President Muhammadu has arrived Maiduguri under tight Security to perform some functions.

Buhari who is on a visit to the State of Bornu is expected to commission some projects executed by the administration of Governor Babagana Zulum. Some of the projects include the Custom flyover, 20km Custom-Muna dual carriageway.

The President will also commission the first phase of 10,000 houses approved for the resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and refugees in the state.

Prime Business Africa reports that construction work of over 4,000 of the 10,000 houses were completed at Kakeri, Dalori and other communities across the state.

He will also open the Centre for Distance Learning, University of Maiduguri, donated by Alhaji Mohammed Indimi an oil mogul.

Speaking on security earlier before the Presidential visit, the state Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umar, said the command has deployed a substantial number of its personnel to provide adequate security.

Umar said that the personnel deployed to provide security during the exercise include; men of the Police Mobile Force (PMF),  Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Anti-Bomb Squad (EOD), Sniffer Dog Section, and the “Crack Team’’ personnel.

He also said the personnel would be working in collaboration with officers of other sister security agencies.

Initially, there were uncertainties as to whether the president would make the visit due to three explosions that rocked some parts of the city just a few hours before his arrival.
