BREAKING: Ekiti SSG Resigns, Picks Governorship Form

Secretary to the Ekiti State government (SSG), Abiodun Oyebanji has resigned from his position, with the intention of joining the state governorship race coming up in 2022.

According to a statement by Chief Press Secretary to governor of the state, Yinka Oyebode, the resignation which was accepted by the governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, takes effect from Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

Part of the statement reads, “Oyebanji had cited his decision to contest the forthcoming governorship election in the State for his resignation as Secretary to the State Government.

“Governor Fayemi in accepting Oyebanji’s resignation, thanked the former SSG for his remarkable contribution to the administration since inception in 2018 and wished him well in his future endeavours.”

Prime Business Africa gathered that Oyebanji is set to pick the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship nomination form tomorrow in Abuja, ahead of the party primaries scheduled to hold in January 2022.

Oyebanji was appointed SSG to Governor Fayemi In October 2018.
