BREAKING: Chukwuma Into 100m Semis, Tima Godbless Out

Nigeria’s Rosemary Chukwuma qualified for the semifinal stage of the 100m on Friday. She competed in heat five of the series of 100m heats decided Friday morning, posting a time of 11.26 seconds. Compatriot Tima Godbless was however not lucky as she finished in time of 11.33seconds competing in heat seven.

Eight super heats were watched by excited spectators this morning as the athletes battled to make it into the next stage.

More athletics event will continue later Friday. In the heats decided so far, the usual fast running athletes zoomed into the semifinals further giving a peep into what the heats of the semifinals and subsequent races will look like.

The likes of Fraser-Price of Jamaica, Asher-Smith of Britain and Sha Carri Richardson are all in for the semis heats.

The women’s 100m semi-finals are scheduled to take place at 6:30 pm on Saturday, 3rd August.
