Blue Economy: Tinubu Appoints New Executive Directors For NPA, NIMASA

President Bola Tinubu has greenlit the appointment of new Executive Directors in two key agencies operating under the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

The appointments, signed off by the President, aim to enhance the efficiency of operations within these agencies.

According to a statement released by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, the newly appointed Executive Directors for the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) have been named.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ms. Vivian C. Richard Edet, Engr. Olalekan Badmus, Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar, Mr. Jibril Abba, Mr. Chudi Offodile, and Engr. Fatai Taye Adeyemi as Executive Directors in these vital agencies,” stated Ngelale.

Ngelale added that the President, after consideration of their qualifications and experience, believes they will effectively execute their duties to enhance the Marine & Blue Economy sector’s contribution to the nation’s GDP.

This aligns with the administration’s agenda to create a more labor-intensive and inclusive economy, fostering opportunities for all Nigerians.

Expressing optimism in the appointments, The president’s spokesperson emphasized that these new leaders would play a crucial role in steering the Marine & Blue Economy sector towards greater success, under the guidance of the Honourable Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.

“These appointments signify a strategic move towards bolstering our marine and blue economy sectors. We believe these individuals possess the acumen and dedication needed to drive the sector’s growth and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s economic advancement,” he said.

The appointment of these Executive Directors is anticipated to usher in a new era of progress and development within the Marine & Blue Economy sector, aligning with the administration’s broader agenda for economic transformation.
