Ben Etiaba Congratulates Soludo On Successful Inauguration

Candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) party in the November 6 Anambra governorship election, Ben Etiaba, has congratulated Prof. Chukwuma Soludo on his successful inauguration as the fifth democratically elected governor of the state on Thursday.

In a statement released on Friday, Etiaba son of the former governor of the state, Dame Virgy Etiaba, enjoined all in the state to appreciate the gift of a new governor who seems determined to transform the state to truly become the “light of the nation” as indicated in its motto.

He words: “Yesterday, Thursday the 17th day of March 2022, witnessed the smooth change of leadership batton in Awka, as Anambra State inaugurated it’s 5th democratically elected Governor.

“H.E. Governor Chukwuemeka Ezeife who had won his election in 1991, was sworn into office in January 1992 as our first democratically elected Executive Governor.

“Yesterday however, as a result of his inauguration, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR became our 5th Executive Governor since this democratic dispensation started in 1999.

Other Governors were:
1. Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju (1999),
2. Dr. Chris Ngige OON (2003),
3. Dame Virgy Etiaba CON (2006),
4. Mr. Peter Obi CON (2006), and
5. Chief Willie Obiano FCA (2014).

“Whereas the unfortunate ‘distraction’ at the event dominated the news headlines, let us all nonetheless lift a glass in honor of our new Governor who seems every bit determined to moving our State from where we presently are, to where we should be as the ‘Light of the Nation’.

“I join all well meaning men and women of goodwill in praying for him and his incoming team, for a successful tenure.”
