Now in its sixth year, the Farmers for the Future programme offers up to ₦10 million in equity funding, access to a comprehensive business accelerator bootcamp, a year-long tailored mentorship, and membership in a thriving network of young agri-entrepreneurs.

Oludare Odusanya, General Manager of British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation, explained that the programme is designed to provide more than just financial support.

“At BATNF, we believe agriculture is a powerful tool for economic empowerment and national development. The ‘Farmers for the Future’ initiative is an opportunity to not only fund but also nurture youth-led agribusinesses that can create jobs, enhance food security, and drive innovation throughout Nigeria’s agricultural value chain,” he said.

BATNF highlighted that past beneficiaries have successfully transformed small-scale vegetable farms into full-fledged agribusinesses, contributing significantly to local economies.

Participants will also receive training in financial management, strategic planning, and sustainable agricultural practices aimed at reducing post-harvest losses, improving market access, and boosting competitiveness with major buyers.

“We are committed to seeing more young people lead the charge in agriculture, introducing innovative ideas and sustainable practices to feed Nigeria and the world,” Odusanya added.

The Foundation is calling on young farmers and corps members with creative agribusiness ideas to submit their applications before the July 20 deadline.
