The African Venture Philanthropy Alliance (AVPA) and the Sterling One Foundation have jointly announced the highly anticipated ASIS 2023 Deal Room, scheduled to take place on August 11, 2023.

This remarkable event aims to facilitate connections between social impact enterprises and potential investors, providing a platform for funding opportunities.

AVPA, in collaboration with other technical partners, will oversee the management of the deal room, offering impact-focused SMEs an invaluable opportunity to showcase their innovative business models, engage with investors, forge potential partnerships, and explore strategic collaborations.

The ASIS 2023 Deal Room seeks applications from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with compelling and sustainable business models in various sectors including healthcare/health-tech, agribusiness, renewable energy, circular economy, e-commerce, financial technology, logistics, Edutech, cleantech, and micro-finance.

These SMEs should be seeking a minimum funding of $200,000 to support their impactful endeavors. Interested enterprises can submit their applications for consideration on the official website of the event, on or before the application deadline of July 19, 2023.

Participation in the deal room is strictly by invitation and will be subject to availability and final confirmation by the deal committee.

The selection process will carefully evaluate each application based on specific criteria, including the social impact value of the business, with a clear focus on social or environmental goals.

Additionally, emphasis will be placed on innovation, creativity, financial sustainability, and a minimum operational track record of two years, with a revenue-generating product or service already in place. Qualifying businesses are encouraged to apply directly through the event’s official website.
