APGA National Chairman Condoles With Enugu Govt Over Tanker Explosion

National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, has expressed  sorrow over the tragic fuel tanker explosion that occurred on Saturday, 25th January 2025, along the Ugwu-Onyeama section of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Enugu State.

The unfortunate incident, which claimed multiple lives and left several others injured, serves as a devastating reminder of the urgent need for stricter adherence to road safety measures. Barrister Ezeokenwa also noted with concern that this tragedy comes only a few weeks after a similar tanker explosion in Niger State, further underscoring the critical need for improved safety and enforcement measures on Nigerian highways.

The APGA National Chairman conveyed his deepest sympathies to the families who lost loved ones and prayed for the swift recovery of those receiving medical care.

He also urged all road users, particularly fuel tanker operators, to exercise heightened caution and comply with safety regulations to prevent such avoidable disasters.

In addition, Barrister Ezeokenwa called on relevant enforcement agencies to intensify their efforts to implement and uphold traffic safety measures nationwide to avert recurring incidents of this nature.

He reaffirmed APGA’s commitment to supporting initiatives that prioritize public safety and protect the lives of all Nigerians. Barrister Ezeokenwa stands in solidarity with the government and people of Enugu State during this difficult time and prays for healing and comfort for all affected.
