APC’s Presidential Convention To Hold In Abuja

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is expected to hold its convention for the Presidential primaries in Abuja, Prime Business Africa has exclusively scooped from a source within the party.

It is not clear if there new dynamics now making it more imperative to hold the Presidential convention in the Federal Capital Territory.

“Not always,” came the response from the APC stalwart that spoke with Prime Business Africa in reference to the convention expected to consistently hold at the seat of power.

“Recall that the last time the PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) held theirs in Port Harcourt. The first for us ( APC) in 2014 was in Lagos. It was 2018 that it held in Abuja,” the source added.

Interesting update emerged on Sunday as Presidential aspirant on the ticket of the APC, Moses Ayom, announced his decision to quit the race.

Ayom elected to give up his aspirations as the agitations for Middle belt Presidency in 2023 came to a bought after the party chieftains zoned it to the South.

The new national and zonal officers of the party were elected during the National Convention that was held on March 26 at the Eagles Square Abuja, one month after it was initially billed to hold.

The convention approved the amended sections of the party’s constitution which ratified the activities of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).
