APC Sets Up Zonal Congress Committees

The Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set up committees for its zonal congresses in the six geo-political zones in Nigeria.

According to a memo released on Thursday signed by the CECPC Secretary, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe containing list of the committee members, Abubakar Sani Bello, Governor of Niger State will be chairman of the North-central committee; Yusuf Yusuf will chair North-east and Abba Ali, North-west.

Also, former senate president, Ken Nnamani will be chairman of the South-east congress committee, the governor of Bayelsa State, David Lyon, would chair South-south and Akinremi Olaide, South-west.

“The chairmen of the committees are all members of the CECPC, while secretaries are selected from amongst the Deputy Governors from their respective geo-political zones.

“Meetings of zonal stakeholders hold on Saturday, 26th February, 2022 at the respective geo-political zones,” Akpanudoedehe stated.

Each zonal committee is made up of Seven members including the chairman and secretary.

The zonal congresses will take place on March 12, 2022 to elect APC zonal party leaders ahead of the March 26, new date for the party’s national convention.
