Anambra Academicals Cup: Four Finals On The Cards At Awka City Stadium

The finals in the Anambra Academicals Cup organised by the Anambra State Sports Development Commission will hold today (Tuesday, 28 December 2021) across all categories at the New Ultra Modern Awka City Stadium, Awka.

The competition which is being organised with the aim of discovering more football stars for the state and country in general will have four finals after a hard fought round Robin format.

In the final of the U-13 tournament, Community Primary School, Orsumenyi will play against Eri Primary School, Aguleri at 10am while Community Secondary School, Isuofia face Christ Redeemer College, Amesi at 12 noon. .
In the Teri Cup (for Tertiary Institutions), Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka will face off against Federal Polytechnic, Oko at 2pm
The day’s action will round off with the U-17 men’s team battling for supremacy as Aguata High School, Aguata and Saint Francis Memorial Secondary School, Aguleri play at 4pm.

Izuchukwu Okosi is a Nigerian sports and entertainment journalist with two decades of experience in the media industry having begun his media journey in 2002 as an intern at Mundial Sports International (MSI) and Africa Independent Television (AIT), owners of Daar Communications Plc.

Okosi is a member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Association of Voiceover Artistes of Nigeria (AVOA), Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

He has been part of cast in some Nollywood movies and radio dramas including Blood Money 2, Scores To Settle, Dead End 2, Another Campus Tale and Battle Line.

Aside mainstream media and the entertainment industry, he has interests in scouting/unearthing of talents in the sports and creative sectors, exports business and property development.
