THE Appeal Court, Kano Division on Tuesday voided the June 30th judgment of Birkin Kudu Division of Jigawa State High Court which dismissed Chief Victor Ike Oye as the APGA National Chairman.
The Jigawa court’s ruling nullified the victory of Prof. Charles Soludo as APGA’s candidate for the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra, saying it was conducted by Oye’s faction of the party.
In a judgment delivered on Tuesday, the Appellate court disagreed with the lower court which ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise Mr. Jude Okeke, its faction of the party and their gubernatorial candidate Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji.
The Appeal court also ruled that the Jigawa High Court has no territorial jurisdiction to entertain the case ad binitio.
The appellate court’s ruling appears to have cleared the obstacle blocking Soludo in contesting the November 6, 2021 governorship election under APGA.
