Amadeus University in Abia State has appointed Prof. Ihuoma Roseline Ndimele as its first Pro-Chancellor, along with other key principal officers, marking a new leadership era.

The university has named Prof. Mrs. Ihuoma Roseline Ndimele as its first Pro-Chancellor and Chair of the University’s Governing Council.

Prof. Ndimele is a distinguished scholar and administrator, currently serving as the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu. Her career includes roles such as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at ABSU and various positions in public service with the Abia State Government.

Prof. Ndimele’s leadership extends to her involvement in socio-cultural groups like Rotary International and Inner Wheel, and her role as the Ugo Eze of Awomnuzie, Ikwuano, Abia State.

In addition to Prof. Ndimele, Amadeus University has appointed several principal officers following approval from the Governing Council. Prof. Samuel M. Nzotta has been named the new Vice-Chancellor, effective March 2024. Prof. Nzotta brings a wealth of academic and administrative experience, having served as a Professor of Finance at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).

His career includes notable roles in various university departments and centers, and he is recognized for his research and publications in finance, management, and business administration. Prof. Nzotta is also a Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Management and the Chartered Institute of Administration, among other professional bodies.

Mr. Ernest O. Onuoha joins Amadeus University as the new Registrar. With over 33 years of experience in university administration, Mr. Onuoha has served as Registrar at K. O. Mbadiwe University, Eastern Palm University, and ABSU. He holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation from the University of Nigeria and brings extensive administrative expertise to his new role.

Dr. Ngozi Blessing Ukachi has been appointed as the University Librarian. Dr. Ukachi, formerly the Deputy University Librarian and Associate Professor at the University of Lagos, is known for her work in library science and information management.

She has held various leadership positions in library departments and has published extensively in international journals. Dr. Ukachi’s contributions to professional library associations include her roles in the Nigerian Library Association and the International Federation of Library Associations.

However, the school appointed Mr. Augustine Ugorji as the new Bursar of Amadeus University, effective March 2024. Mr. Ugorji, a Fellow Chartered Accountant, has over 25 years of experience in financial management and accounting. His previous positions include Financial Controller at SAANA Corporate Investments Management Limited and PAY4ME Services Nigeria Limited. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy.

Amadeus University was approved by the Federal Executive Council and licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in June 2023. Located in Amizi, Ikwuano LGA, Abia State, the university is set to begin academic activities in September 2024, with 19 degree programs under four faculties. The campus features modern facilities, including instructional and boarding amenities, sports facilities, and a guest house for family visits.
