Air Peace Grows Airbus Fleet To 10, Boosts African Operations With 40 Aircraft

Air Peace has increased its Airbus aircraft fleet to 10, as the company plans to add more routes to its scheduled domestic and African destination flights.

The Allen Onyema-run airline took delivery of two new Airbus A320-200s, a month after adding three airbus planes to its fleet, according to Simpleflying.

Prime Business Africa gathered that the Airbus A320-200s are registered YL-LDU and ES-SAZ. They were secured under a lease agreement with ACMI charter and cargo operator SmarLynx Airlines.

The new additions followed Prime Business Africa’s report that Air Peace plans to resume flight operations in Uyo, Nigeria and Monrovia, Liberia.

The airline  had suspended service in 2020, but last week, PBA reported that Uyo’s flight service will resume on December 1, 2022, at a competitive price of N50,000.

This is below the N65,000 and N80,000 ticket price, which Air Peace’s market rival, Ibom Air, offers air passengers travelling the Uyo route in the second half of this year.

Spokesperson for Air Peace, Stanley Olisa, had stated in the PBA report, “We are happy to inform the flying public of the resumption of flight operations into Uyo on December 1, 2022, with a re-launch fare of 50,000 naira. Our customers can now book their Uyo flights on all our booking platforms as the schedules are live.”

Prior to the announcement, Air Peace had 20 domestic routes, serving seven regional routes and three international destinations. The resumption of Uyo and Monrovia will increase the firm’s revenue sources.

This will increase Air Peace’s passengers and earnings from ticket sales. PBA learnt Air Peace has about 40 aircraft, which includes Embraer, Airbus A320, Boeing B737 and Boeing B777.

As of 2019, Air Peace carried over 4.2 million domestic passengers, which saw the Allen Onyema’s  airline account for 41.65 per cent of domestic market share in Nigeria. In 2022, the airline reportedly operated 699 international flights, transporting 65,037 passengers.
