AFCON: Eguavoen Scoops CAF’s Best Coach Of The Group Stage Award

Nigeria’s Super Eagles interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen has been awarded the Confederation of Africa Football, CAF Africa Cup of Nations see, AFCON 2021 Best Coach of the Group Stage.

Former Eagles right back Eguavoen guided the three-time African champions to a 100% group record with three wins out of three matches. He is the only coach to reach the last 16 with unblemish record.
Super Eagles won Group D with nine points, scoring six goals conceding just once.
Cameroon Indomitable Lions striker, Vincent Aboubakar undoubtedly won the Best Scorer Award after scoring five goals in three matches to set his side for the knockout statge.
Aboubakar rocked the AFCON group stages with five goals sending him top of the goalscoring chart and surpassing the feat of Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo who was topscorer of the last AFCON with five goals throughout the duration of the 2019 tournament.
