A baby factory disguised as Jesus Life Assembly church, has been uncovered by the Imo State Police Command, in Owerri, North council area of the state.

The Command Spokesperson, Micheal Abattam, revealed that the pastor, Evangelist Ugochi Orisakwe, and 4 other members of his church were arrested few hours after they sold twin babies to a Mrs. Chinyere Ohanyere, and her relative, Adaeze Ohanyere, for an undisclosed fee.

Also, 18-year-old Amarachi Okechukwu Dioku, who was reported missing on March 23, 2021 by her parents, was discovered by the Anti-Kidnapping unit of the police force, after they stormed the church.

Miss Amarachi Okechukwu Dioku who is now five months pregnant, was rescued and taken to a government hospital for treatment, and her parents were alerted.

The pastor, Evangelist Ugochi Orisakwe who confessed that the church was a place where young girls are impregnated and kept till delivery, noted that the girls were paid off as soon as their babies were sold to rich and childless clients.

The Commissioner of Police CP Rabiu Hussaini, commended the efforts of the team, and called on Imolites to be wary of churches located in isolated areas within their localities.

He further warned all who indulged in kidnapping and children trafficking to vacate the state or run the risk of apprehension by the police force.
