PEOPLE’s Democratic Party (PDP), has inaugurated a National Campaign Council, in view of the 2021 gubernatorial elections.
The inauguration of the 179-member National Campaign Council was held at the National Secretariat of the party, Wadata House, and was chaired by Abia state Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelSpeaking on behalf of the Chairman of the Council, Governor Okowa congratulated Valentine Ozigbo for emerging flag-bearer of the party for the Anambra state elections and assured him of support and total commitment of the party.
Also speaking at the event, Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, commended the unity of the party members, emphasising that PDP stood great chances in the forthcoming elections.
Other governors present at the inauguration were Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo; and Taraba’s Darius Ishaku.
Addressing the audience, the party’s flag-bearer for Anambra state, thanked the National Working Committee of the PDP, the board of trustees, and PDP Governors Forum, for the support and encouragement that he has received from them.
Ozigbo expressed his confidence in the leadership of Governors Ikpeazu and Okowa saying that with their leadership of the campaign, the PDP is on the right path to executing an exceptional campaign that would take the “Ka Anambra Chawapu” message to the grassroots of the southeastern state.
Senator Abaribe, the Minority Leader of the Senate has also called on all the people of Anambra State to rally behind Ozigbo and the PDP in the election, adding that any plot of the ruling party to rig the forthcoming elections in the state, would end in futility.
