Nigeria’s Super Eagles In Pot 2 Ahead 2023 AFCON Draw

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Thursday released the pots for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivorie ahead of the October 12 date, reports Prime Business Africa.

Ahead of the draws for the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the Confederation of African Football( CAF) has released the pot for the draw set for 12 October 2023 at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

Three-time African champions Nigeria qualified for the tournament with a game to spare but required a good result against Sao Tome and Principe to finish atop the group.

Jose Peseiro’s team outclassed their opponents with a 6-0 hiding – ensuring that they qualified with 15 points from a possible 18.

According to the pot released on Thursday, the Super Eagles are in pot 2 alongside Cameroon, Mali, DR Congo, Burkina Faso, and Ghana.

Hosts Ivory Coast and the continent’s nest ranked side, Morocco are joined by African champions Teranga Lions of Senegal;Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt in pot 1.

Pot 3 consists of South Africa, Cape Verde, Guinea, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea, and Mauritania.

The last pot has Guinea Bissau, Namibia, Mozambique, Angola, Gambia and Tanzania.
