Dr. Umoh, a house officer at LUTH, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, while attending church with his parents. The news of his demise sent shockwaves through the medical community and beyond.

In the wake of this tragedy, LUTH’s management has stepped forward to address the allegations that Dr. Umoh’s death was a result of an exhausting 72-hour non-stop shift.

The hospital’s statement contradicts these claims, citing records from the Neurosurgery unit. According to the hospital, Dr. Umoh’s last on-call duty occurred on September 13th and 14th, 2023, and he was not on call on the fateful day of his passing.

The family, while sharing their thoughts on contributing factors, implored that their privacy be respected and that the details not be made public.

Dr. Umoh, remembered as a diligent and hardworking house officer with a promising future, leaves a void in the medical community and the hearts of his friends and colleagues.

As questions continue to swirl about the events leading to his tragic passing, the public remains divided over the true cause of his death.

For now, the family mourns their beloved son, and LUTH management seeks to clarify the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate loss. May Dr. Michael Umoh rest in peace, and may his family find the strength to endure this profound loss.
