Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has refuted claims suggesting his involvement in the demolition of private hangars at Murtala Muhammed International Airport Two (MMIA 2) in Lagos.
Keyamo, who was among the 45 ministers sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday, August 21, at the presidential villa in Abuja, had previously served as the Minister of State for Labor and Productivity in immediate past administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelA report carried by an online media platform alleged that Keyamo had issued orders for the immediate demolition of Dominion and EAN hangars at MMIA 2, citing the need for airport expansion during his facility tour on Thursday, August 31.
In response to the allegations, Keyamo emphatically stated on his X handle, “This is not correct. No demolition was ordered. We have only told Nigerians the private hangars that are preventing Nigerians from using the new terminal and that we will engage the owners on their eventual relocation.”
