UCL: Arsenal, Man United, Man City, Napoli Know Champions League Foes

The draws for the group stages of the 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League was held at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland Thursday evening with some interesting games in prospect, reports Prime Business Africa.

The competition, won by Manchester City last season after beating Inter Milan in the final, will see the return of some clubs who were regular participants but had hit a rough patch in recent years.

Arsenal, the losing finalists on the final of the 2006 finals to Barcelona, returns to the elite of big clubs same as Newcastle United.

Serie A champions, Napoli, whose attack was spearheaded by Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen, will play in the competition after a stellar season in Italy last season saw them win the Scudetto for the first in 33 years after Diego Maradona led them to titiel triumph in 1990.

Newcastle United will make a comeback to European football after a recent financial windfall occasioned by the takeover of the Toons by investors from Saudi Arabia and will face some big boys when hostilities begin.

The Matchday one of the competition will be played on September 12 and 13.
