Mbappe Turns Down Latest PSG Contract Offer, Out Of Ligue 1 Opener

August 1, 2023

Kylian Mbappé has sensationally turned down the chance to extend his contract at PSG beyond 2024 despite the best efforts of the club to have him stay on until 2025.

The new contract would have guaranteed his departure from the French Ligue 1 side next year for a prize rather then departing on a free.

Rumours have circulated in the media that Mbappé has already reached a pre-agreement with Real Madrid who wanted him to join last season before a supposed intervention of France President, Emmanuel Macron, led to a contract extension by Mbappe two seasons ago.

PSG are said to be considering filing a formal complaint to FIFA over the issue, believing that Real Madrid and Mbappe have an agreement already.

Meanwhile PSG have opted to keep Mbappe out of their opening Ligue 1 game of the season due to the uncertainty surrounding his future.

As the opening match against FC Lorient nears on August 12, reports from France indicate that PSG has no plans to have Mbappé in the squad for the opening Ligue 1 game.

The forward of Cameroon descent even has his photo removed from the club’s first team Homepage.
