Update: NBBF Invites 20 For AfroBasket Championship

July 17, 2023

The Nigeria Basketball Federation ( NBBF) has invited 20 players to the D’Tigress camp ahead of the 2023 Women’s Afrobasket Championship.

The federation initially opened the camp for tryouts in Nigeria and the United States but the trials in the North American country seem not to see the light of the day.

The team is largely dominated by players based in the United States led by Sarah Ogoke.

Rena Wakama who was newly appointed is expected to lead the team to camp.

D’Tigress, having clinched the championship title in the previous editions of the competition, enters the tournament as the reigning back-to-back champions.

The team’s impressive winning streak and consistent performance have made them the team to beat this season despite the recent turmoil in the basketball federation.
