The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), a paramilitary organisation established by Act 3 of 2003, with a number of responsibilities in internal security, conducts recruitment annually to strengthen its workforce.

The recruitment application is usually accessed through the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) career portal (https://cdcfib.org.ng/).  CDCFIB was established by Decree No. 14 of July 1986 as the ’Customs, Immigration and Prisons Services Board’ under the Chairmanship of the Honourable Minister of Internal Affairs (now Interior). The Board has the exclusive responsibility for the appointment/recruitment, promotion and discipline of all officers of the Services.

Currently, the application for the NSCDC job in the 2023 recruitment exercise has closed. The Board held a Computer-Based Test (CBT) on 18 May 2023 for successfully shortlisted applicants. A message on the CDCFIB career portal says the application for 2023 has closed and states that successful candidates in the CBT will be contacted in due time.

The Board chairman also advised all applicants to disregard messages about the recruitment not coming directly from the Board as they emanate from fraudsters looking for victims to defraud.

NSCDC Application Requirements

NSCDC usually announces the commencement of recruitment once the application form is out. So, for those intending to apply when next the application portal opens, there are requirements to land you the job you dream of.

How to Apply for NSCDC Job

It is very easy to apply for Civil Defence recruitment, simply go to the official recruitment portal www.nscdc.gov.ng and register. Once you have done that, submit your documents on the portal and provide the right information. Here is a more detailed step-by-step process to apply for civil defence recruitment:

  1. Go to www.cdfipb.careers (here you will obtain the application form).
  2. Click on ‘Apply’.
  3. Enter your bio-data on the application form page
  4. Upload your certificates and means of National Identity.
  5. Submit your application once completed.
  6. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted once the applications are reviewed.

Physical requirements

Height: Male – 1.65 metres; female – 1.60 metres

Age -18-30 years

Academic

For NSCDC recruitment, applicants with Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND or Ordinary Diploma from an accredited higher institution across relevant disciplines or courses of study are qualified.

Also, good knowledge of computer basic applications is required for the delivery of various tasks when successfully recruited.

 

Note

NSCDC has clearly stated on its portal www.nscdc.gov.ng and other platforms that recruitment into the agency is transparent and completely free of charge. It advises applicants to ignore racketeers calling and asking for money to help them process applications.
