Arsenal star Katie McCabe whose Republic of Ireland team will face Nigeria’s Super Falcons at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Group B of the tournament has given an update on his return from injury.
McCabe picked up an injury in her team’s preparatory friendly against France but could fit enough to face the Nigerian team when they meet on July 31.

The full back cum winger spoke to Sky Sports Friday on the preparedness of the British team to post an impressive outing at the tournament.

“Everything is looking really positive,” McCabe told Sky Sports on Friday.
“I basically was running through and I kind of rolled my ankle, but I’ve been for scans and stuff this morning. So I’m in a good place and hopefully will be back on the pitch early next week,” she added.
McCabe, led Ireland to their first-ever World Cup after beating Scotland 1-0 in the playoff finals.
Nigeria have always qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup since the maiden edition of the tournament in 1991 when China hosted it.
The Nigerian girls have already touched down in Brisbane ahead of the tournament.
