Twitter Threatens Lawsuit Against Meta Over New App Threads

Following the successful takeoff of Meta’s new app, Threads, on Wednesday, the microblogging site, Twitter, is threatening to initiate legal action.

The PBA reports that the app went live on Apple and Android app stores in 100 countries on Wednesday. However, Threads is not yet released in Europe owing to concerns over data privacy.

Twitter’s letter was signed by Alex Spiro and addressed to Mark Zuckerberg. Meta Offers Tips On How To Obtain Invite To New App, Threads

It said the company “has serious concerns that Meta Platforms (Meta) have engaged in systematic, willful, and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property.

“Twitter intends to strictly enforce its intellectual property rights, and demands that Meta take immediate steps to stop using any Twitter trade secrets or other highly confidential information.”
