Anambra Govt Sets Up Independent Probe Committee

The Anambra State Government has been closely monitoring the ongoing controversy surrounding the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the case of Mmesoma Ejike.

In a recent statement, Sir Paul Nwosu, the state Commissioner for Information, acknowledged the situation and highlighted the government’s decision to conduct an independent investigation into the matter.

The incident unfolded when Miss Mmesoma Ejike visited the office of Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, armed with her UTME result.

She claimed that JAMB had failed to acknowledge her as the candidate with the highest score. Concerned about these allegations, the commissioner contacted JAMB to verify Mmesoma’s claim, only to be informed that her result was allegedly forged.

Upon learning of this, JAMB authorities promptly called upon the Directorate of State Services (DSS) to initiate an investigation into the matter and present their findings.

However, before the DSS could complete its inquiry, JAMB took the matter public, leading to intense debates and discussions in various media platforms.

The Anambra State Government, mindful of its responsibility to ensure fairness and transparency, has decided to establish a Committee of Inquiry.

This committee, composed of esteemed individuals from academia, technology, and other relevant fields, will meticulously investigate the JAMB/Mmesoma matter

“In the light of the above, Anambra State Government has set up a Committee of Inquiry to thoroughly investigate the JAMB/Mmesoma matter. Members of the Committee include:
