NUC's Executive Secretary Resigns, Resumes Teaching At BUK

The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, has resigned from his position.

The voluntary retirement which he announced on Monday is to enable him return to Bayero University, Kano, to continue his teaching job.

Until his resignation, Rasheed was the Executive Secretary of the NUC a position he assumed seven years ago during the tenure of the erstwhile minister of education, Adamu Adamu.

The NUC under his tenure approved the highest number of private universities and also recorded the highest number of industrial actions.
